Getting in on the act with Bitmove

Brand marketing company Bitmove has added a completely new dimension to its VideoMail concept with the introduction of the Chromakey Film Studio.

With VideoMail, visitors to a museum can record a short video clip about their experience - showing the museum in the background - which they can then address to friends and family by using the touchscreen on the VideoMail kiosk.

Before the clip is emailed, they reply to a few questions for direct marketing and research purposes.

All the email addresses provided then receive a branded email with a link to the video clip. Using the link, recipients are directed to the museum's website to view the clip, although these are actually streamed from Bitmove's servers to avoid overloading the website.

Current clients include the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the Heineken Experience and the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam; Arsenal Football Club in London; the Bacardi visitor centre in Puerto Rico; the Glenfiddich museum in Scotland; the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin; and the NCAA in the USA.

With the Chromakey option, visitors can also act in the video. After choosing from two or more background movie clips, they see themselves in the setting of their choice on a large TV screen and recording starts automatically.

Once the recording has finished, the result can then be emailed in the same fashion as that for VideoMail.
